SPACES OF COLORS

24/11/2018

I do not know how words can be expressive or parallel to the idea of the painting itself. It is impossible for the writing through which the artist tries to convey the painting to be effective unless it is organized and mirrors the dimensions of the imagination itself, which generate verbal similarities with the intended feeling. In my works, especially in this exhibition, I find what I seek after satisfying my desire for painting and my joy in coloring spaces, achieving my existence through a continuous search as a reference that is essential for my presence in this world.
The painting is the result of a historic movement of ambiguous meanings in the mind. All the experiences I have lived since the moment I discovered myself come to mind when facing the space before me. The more I resist what I know, the more my dream is realized with the emergence of a new vision that astonishes me and may delight others. What amazes me even more are the Nile, the desert, and the woman—these are my major subjects. I have loved the Nile for its generosity, adored the desert for its darkness and silence, and cherished the woman for her nobility…. Dr. Rashid Diab
