Wael Darwesh
Egyptian, b. 1975

Wael Darwesh (b. 1975, Egypt) is a multidisciplinary artist and professor of drawing and painting at the Faculty of Art Education, where he has taught since his graduation in 1998.
He holds a doctorate in Contemporary Painting Philosophy and a Master's degree in painting and drawing. With over 25 years in the visual arts, Darwesh uses painting, video, and installation art
to explore political and socioeconomic changes and their impact on contemporary society. He has held 21 solo exhibitions and participated in over 100 international exhibitions, receiving numerous awards. His works combine surrealism, symbolism, and color expressionism, with a focus on the human element, addressing contemporary societal issues and their effects on humanity.
