Taher AbdElAzeem
(Egyptian, b. 1967) earned a BFA from the décor department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University 1990 followed by an MA in 1997 from the Expressive Arts Section entitled “The Formation in the field of cinema tricks through the work of Steven Spielberg”. He also earned a PhD in 2001 entitled “The Creativity in designing the fashion of historical film characters”; a comparative study of Cleopatra's films. He is a member of the Fine Artists Syndicate, the Fine Artists Association in Cairo. In December 2010 he was a part of the Arbitration Committee of the River of the Sea Competition for Fine Arts in Sakaya Abdel Moneim El Sawy. In 1992, he was appointed to be a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts- Décor Department, then got promoted to the rank of assistant professor in 2007. AbdElAzeem is known for his paintings that depict the Egyptian folk dance “Tannoura” or “Skirt Dance.” He also portrays the Fatimid Civilization with its Islamic heritage and Architecture.
