Mounir Iskandar
(Egyptian, b. 1926) is an international Modern Artist who received his bachelors’ degree from The Academy of FIne Arts in 1952. His mentors include Youssef Kamel and Ahmed Sabry who influenced his love of realistic representation.
Iskander has been on the art scene for more than six decades now and has works of art all over the world in the private art collection of Princeton University and the American University in Cairo. During his artistic journey, he has participated in several exhibitions worldwide and locally in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France and the Ukraine.
He has a unique understanding of the wheels of society in Egypt and consequently is able to depict it with a degree of nostalgic accuracy.
