(Egyptian, b. 1979) graduated from the Faculty of Art Education in 2001. She later studied at the Academy of Art in the criticism department. Her artworks have been showcased in numerous group exhibitions inside and outside Egypt. Mai Heshmat is primarily a portrait painter and portrays striking faces. She combines old Egyptian portrait styles with a child-like style. Her portraits have an ancient and soulful look in modern settings.
