Kamel Mostafa
(Egyptian, b. 1917, d. 1982) joined the Higher School of Fine Arts, Department of Photography in 1936, and graduated from it in 1941. He was the student of the artists Youssef Kamel, Ahmed Sabry and Mohamed Nagy. Mostafa studied the art of decorative painting beside his original study with Professor Fuchu France, and obtained a diploma in the restoration of oil paintings in 1950. In addition to his work as a professional artist he immersed himself in academia and worked as a teacher of oil painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts from 1950 to 1958. Next he was promoted to professor and head of the photography department at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria. Between 1969 and 1977 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria.
