Guirguis Lotfy

Gerges-Lotfy

works and lives in Alexandria. His work focuses on Coptic life and its impact on modern art.

He holds a BFA, MFA & Ph.D received in 1980, 1986 and 1991 respectively.
Lotfy’s work contains depictions of Egyptian-life using ancient painting techniques used between the 1st to the 4th century, such as egg tempera.
Lotfy masters the use of iconography combined with an elaborate creation of a two-dimensional set of local characters of his own creation and iconography.
