Amr Fahmy
(Egyptian) was born in Alexandria. He is one of Egypt’s most prominent caricaturists. Fahmy has been drawing a daily caricature in Al-Akhbar newspaper on its second page for more than 27 years now. The great writer Ahmed Ragab chose him to draw the "Kafr al-Hanadwa" caricature that is published in Akhbar Al-Youm every Saturday. Amr Fahmy's cartoons were published in the most important Arab and foreign magazines, including Zahrat Al Khaleej Magazine, Al Alam Al Youm Newspaper, Al Watan Newspaper, Egypt Today, and American Leaders Magazine. He also designed the covers of more than 800 books for major writers, including Mustafa Amin, Ihsan Abdel Quddous and Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud and others. He is an artist who combines a sense of journalism along with his high artistic talent, and this is what made him have the rapid ability to capture vivid ideas from the pulse of people, and from the heart of society, and to embody these ideas in lines and colors characterized by boldness and bold social and political criticism in most cases. He has also published 15 books on the art of caricature from different publishing houses, including the book Caricature Riot Art, which is a study of this type of art, its history, and its schools worldwide.
