Adham Wanly

Egyptian, b. 1908

was born in Alexandria. He is considered one of the pioneers of the Egyptian art movement.

He learned in the atelier of the Italian artist Otorino Becchi then later moved on to set up his own atelier with his brother Seif Wanly. Wanly is known for his depictions of the theater, circus and ballet. His work is displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in Alexandria. He has participated in many local and international exhibitions in places such as Venice and Sao Paulo.
