Vicela Farid
Egyptian, b. 1915

Vesila Farid, also known as Madame Bechtley or Visela Fred, was a renowned Egyptian photographer born in 1915 and passing away on August 3, 2007.
She held a diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bulgaria and was a member of the Syndicate of Fine Artists.
Throughout her career, she participated in several prestigious exhibitions, including in
Akhenaten Hall (1965), the French Cultural Center in Cairo (1969), and multiple shows at the Goethe-Institut Gallery from 1972 to 1986. Her work was also showcased at the Spanish Cultural Center (1983), the Egyptian Center for International Cultural Cooperation (1972-1993), Safar Khan (2006), Al Jazeera Arts Center (2008), and Zamalek Art Gallery (2011). She earned local recognition, winning a silver medal at the Dome Exhibition in Cairo (1969) and first prize at the Cairo Salon in 1971. Additionally, she contributed to several local group exhibitions, including
the General Exhibition of Fine Arts in 1990 and 1993.
