Sherif Reda
(Egyptian, b. 1948) At age 2 he started drawing birds, trees and flowers. His family started to see that he inherited his talent from his grandfather Suleiman Mustafa who was a great Arab calligrapher in Egypt in his time. When he finished school, he joined the Leonardo Da Vinci Institute in Cairo in 1965. He was taught by great artists such as Abdul Aziz Darwish, Lambro Vassiliadis and Zakaria El Ziney. After 5 years of studying he graduated in 1973. After graduation Sherif Reda participated in many art exhibitions because he used a new art style that no one had seen before. He quickly distinguished himself as one of the special artists in Egypt. Sherif Reda was influenced by many things like Arabic calligraphy, Fayum portraits and Ancient Egyptian Art. He has many paintings in the Modern Art Museum in Egypt.
