Hamed Nada (19/11/1924 - 29/5/1990), an influential Egyptian artist, is known for his mature paintings filled with folkloric themes, blending elements from One Thousand and One Nights, pharaonic mythology, and popular legends.

Early in his career, Nada's social-realist works depicted the struggles of the working class, emphasizing the weight of poverty through large, helpless figures. His style evolved in the 1950s, inspired by Ragheb Ayad's reinterpretation of pharaonic art and Nubian and African folk art. This shift led Nada to use bright colors, elongate figures, and create dynamic, symbolic compositions. As he lost his hearing in the 1980s, his works became even more intense, with exaggerated gestures and vibrant colors, capturing a sense of energy and movement.
